The Studio is bright and welcoming in a relaxing and peaceful setting so why not give Abstract painting a go?
ake your first steps and explore the building blocks of abstract painting including form, colour, composition, mark making, collage, space and narrative.
Day 1 You will undertake a number of fun exercises to explore the tools available to build up an abstract painting.
Day 2 You will continue the process of abstraction through the production of 6 small paintings which you will work on for the remainder of the day

Course Information
you will need to bring
You will need to bring:
• a range of acrylic paint of a reasonable quality (good student paint or artists quality) Very cheap paint will only produce disappointing results.
• A3 Mixed Media Pad
• A large palette for mixing colour, scissors, craft knife, sponge, palette knife, masking
tape.
• Brushes – large flat from 25mm – 50mm
wide, cheap bristle brushes
Practical Knowledge
By the end of the course you will have a number of abstract paintings, which will provide a useful resource to develop further. You will have gained practical knowledge to help develop your own work and enrich your visual language.

The Workshop fee includes the cost of providing the following materials:
– 6 20cm x 20cm boards
– Lining Paper
– Collage Materials
– Acrylic Primer
– Charcoal / Marker Pens and Crayons
It has been a great session with Jayne, she is lovely, She is vey quick to respond and is an amazing artist. Her studio is perfect for small classes, which is the best way to do pottery. I was very impressed with her artwork and all her stock. I am definitely going back!
